Q&A

Did you know that about 65% of interpreters are qualified vs. certified

Do you know who certifies interpreters or translators?  Certified interpreters are certified through the Judicial Council and Translators through the American Translators Association.

We take Risk Assessment very serious and that is why we verify and confirm that any interpreter that provides services on behalf of our company is an Active Certified interpreter vs. De-Certified, Not Certified or just a Certificate Holder via the various certifiable sites such as the Judicial Council

If you would like additional information or need an on-site assessment of your service needs, please do not hesitate in contacting us via email.

Q: What’s the difference between bilingual individuals and professional interpreter?
A: Well, bilingual individuals have not been trained in a specific line of field. Therefore, bilingual individuals do not have the skills, capabilities or the terminology to fulfill or complete a professional assignment.

Q: Why should you use interpreters?

A: Because interpreters have been trained in their field and are able to communicate and convey the spoken language into another language. They are able to help bridge the gap between limited English proficient consumers and the customer.

Q: Why use translators?

A: Translators are fully qualified and/or certified in their field and are able to translate written documents into the target language helping limited English proficient customers understand documents.

Q: Why Choose IL Interpreters?

A: Because we have developed a strict contracting process to ensure that only the best interpreters and translators are used for your project no matter where it is or what the language is, we are able to complete your assignment in a timely manner and offer you with a competitive "Booking Service Fee vs. 50-70%  per hour mark up.

Q: Do interpreters and translators need a business license, certificates, credentials?

A: YES. Most counties and states require a business license in order for interpreters or translators to be able to work.  Requirements for Interpreters/Translators are the same as any Small Business Owner, they are required to have a Business license, certificates of insurance, if Certified they must have their Certification Number/Certificate, etc.

Q: Does IL Interpreters offer Discounts?

A: Yes, we offer discounts (and more).  To take advantage "click"the button anywhere you see Discounts.

Q: Does IL Interpreters offer Interpreter Services?

A: Yes.  We offer our "Booking and Referral Finder Service".How this works - Submit your request for service(s), we book your request, we charge a small Booking Fee , and the interpreters will bill you for their services.  Or we can provide you with our list of interpreters and we would ONLY charge you a small Finders Fee.  Note that we do the recruiting, contracting and document compilation and we verify credentials, certificates, etc.  However, Interpreters/Translators will bill you for their services, and the ONLY thing that we charge is a small Booking Service Fee.  Saving you $50-$100 per hour/per assignment.

Do your interpreters/translators sign Non-Disclosure, Confidentiality Agreements?

Yes. Confidentiality and Non Disclosure agreements are important to us and our clients. Our agency has and will sign Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreements upon request.

Are IL Interpreters - Interpreters and Translators certified?

Yes, we have both Certified and Qualified Interpreters to service all of our customers needs. Certified Interpreters are Certified through the Judicial Council.  Translators are Certified through the American Translators Association, and ASL interpreters can go through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf for certification.  Our Risk Assessment will determine if a Certified interpreter is needed for your venue, or if a Qualified interpreter will suffice.  Note that Certified Interpreters are usually required for Legal Assignments.
